Cape Town, 17 August 2015 – Licensed online betting ‘sportsbook’, Sportingbet South Africa, has appointed digital agency HoneyKome, a subsidiary of the Ole! Media Group, to launch its first national TV campaign featuring three new television commercials that express the company’s positioning of ‘there is no better feeling than being right.’
Written and produced by HoneyKome and its production arm, VideoSwarm, the commercials star local comedian and satirist, Jonathan ‘Radio Raps’ who is seen in various scenarios, enjoying and celebrating the ‘feeling of being right.’
First aired on 4th August 2015, the advertisements will be screened on DStv’s SuperSport channels. There is one 30 second advert highlighting the company’s core product, Sportingbet.co.za, which allows registered customers to place bets on sports with smartphone, tablet or desktop. The final two adverts are 15 seconds each and highlight particular features of the product; in-play betting, and the mobile website and application, allowing customers to bet on live sport anywhere and at any time.
HoneyKome was appointed to create the campaign as a result of its unique combination of creative, strategic and production skills in both digital and ATL advertising. “We felt comfortable that HoneyKome’s VideoSwarm team was able to deliver an entertaining and memorable ad that resonates with our market, whilst having a thorough understanding of the stringent rules and regulations that apply to our industry,” commented Cuan Chelin, CEO of Sportingbet.
Sportingbet’s commercials will run on national SuperSport channels including Blitz, SuperSport 1, 2 and 4, for the month of August and according to Deseré Orrill, CMO of OMG and Managing Director of HoneyKome, “although early days, the results appear promising and a further series is already in the planning stage.”
